There have been many complaints about the level of police presence in Mijas over the last 3 years, and Nozal has committed to drastically restructuring, and reinforcing the Mijas Police force to bring more security to the Municipality. Nozal has heavily criticised the shift system which has reduced the police presence and leaves many police cars lying unused outside the station. During 2017 there was a 26% increase in robbery with violence and a 10% increase in burglaries. “People in the Urbanisations are worried. This needs to be a priority,” stated Nozal.
